About You:
We are looking for an individual with experience in a similar role or within a small/medium-sized accounting practice or professional services firm, with a specific focus on accounts preparation.
Responsibilities:
Timely preparation of Management Information.
Production of key performance reports, covering WIP and debtor review, billing and recoveries, chargeable hours performance, utilisation, and cash-flow projections.
Monthly preparation of statistical information for the practice, utilizing analytical procedures, accounting ratios, and benchmarking techniques to evaluate performance within the Dains Group.
Monthly management of inter-department and inter-company transfers, including accounting for staff working on assignments outside their primary responsibility.
Ensuring that spending, including overheads, aligns with the budget.
Monitoring the time and fees ledger information, particularly related to staffing, charge-out rates, utilisation, chargeable hours, and budgets, and reporting any discrepancies.
Development of all financial budgets.
Preparation of VAT returns.
Close collaboration with Company Partners and Group FC as needed.
Qualification/Technical Knowledge/IT Skills:
Essential: Possession of a professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or a strong desire and commitment to achieving qualification if not already held.
Ongoing commitment to CPD in accordance with professional qualification requirements.
Robust awareness of technical aspects related to limited company accounts, including file preparation.
Familiarity with current auditing and accounting standards.
Desirable: Experience with computerized software and systems such as Practice Engine, Accounts IQ, Surf Accounts, Sage, etc.
Excellent understanding of relevant Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel) and any other packages essential to the role.
Commitment to staying technically updated through both internal and external courses.
